Badwater entry

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. -Winston Churchill

In life we set goals, we strive to be the best we can, to always make a difference and although it doesn't always turn out the way we want, we have the ability to learn from it.
I have spent the last 18 years of my life helping others see what is possible if you never give up, if you have the courage to dig a little deeper and push past the inner doubt. Last July I had to drop out of the Badwater 135 Ultra marathon, it was one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make.

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race -Calvin Coolidge

After waiting 6 anxious months to apply, The 2011 Badwater Ultramarathon race field has been selected and I am so happy to hear I will have a spot on the starting line this year. Thank you to the Adventure CORPS board members. I will take all that I have learned as a newcomer to the ultra racing scene and do what it takes to get to the finish line.

Keep checking back for updates on our training, nutrition and technology.

Good luck!

we met you at Oklahoma City two years ago, and wish you the best on BW 2011.

Saddle Road

Hi Amy,

My name is Paulette India Woods and I am the young lady who you helped get to saddle road after getting lost. I (we) were so worried about you, after we dropped you off. I (we) hope that you were able to find your crew safely, and that you were not stranded out in the middle of no where for long. I will keep you in my prayers. It was very nice to have met you.
